Nicole Stephanie Danielle Lyn was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, on 24 February 1978. Her mother, Cheryl Gabay, is of Afro-Jamaican descent, while her father, Peter Lyn, is Chinese-Jamaican. She grew up in Toronto, danced in the National Ballet School’s Junior Dance division, and was a Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus member.
At 10, Nicole auditioned for and got a spot in Claude Watson School for the Arts. She worked filming commercials and guest-starring roles and co-starred in the Canadian kid-com Eric’s World (1991).
