Austin Alejandro Santos Pascual is the son of the famous reggae artist Austin Augustin Santos popularly known by his stage name Arcangel. Arcangel was married to Alejandra Pascual, and they had a son together before partying ways.
Austin Alejandro Santos Pascual’s Father
Austin Alejandro’s father was born in New York City to Dominican parents and was brought up in Puerto Rico. The family moved to Puerto Rico when he was twelve, constantly moving between Puerto Rico and New York City.
Arcangel’s mother was a member of the all-women merengue group, a popular group in the 1980s and 1990s. While Austin Alejandro’s father was growing up, he listened to all kinds of music, although he was a fan of rock music.
Arcangel revealed he never liked reggaeton, which is not his favorite type of music, but he liked it later because it is easy to sing. In the early 2000s, he got inspiration from listening to artists like Tego Calderon and Tempo and decided to venture into a rapping career.
The career of Austin Alejandro’s Father
Arcangel returned to Puerto Rico in 2002, and he decided to sing reggaeton music. He joined an underground reggaeton act, Arcangel & De La Ghetto, and the duo signed to a record label named Zion.
Arcangel and De La Ghetto began their musical journey, and they started compiling albums. In 2006, they rose to fame when an album hosted by Hector El Father was compiled.
Although Arcangel and De La Ghetto were active in music, they never released an album as a duo because of conflicts with their producing company. The duo was involved in the production of albums, but it always leaked to the internet or track records included in the compilation.
The conflict with Baby Records was so intense that Arcangel revealed they had spent $150,000 working on an album, but the label never released it because it had tracks that had been leaked on the internet.
Although Arcangel filed a lawsuit with the recording company, he eventually left the label on December 2006 and announced that he was embarking on a solo career.
Arcangel canceled releasing albums because of leakage to the internet. Still, some of his leaked songs made him more popular among reggaeton fans in the United States and Puerto Rico. In 2008, Arcangel formed his label Flow Factory Inc, and his mother became the manager.
Arcangel revealed it was easy having his mother as the manager instead of having to pay 20% to his manager and a recording company.
Through his label company, he released his first album in the first quarter of 2008. The album contained old tracks and other new tracks, which ended up becoming more successful on Latin radio stations across the United States
Austin Alejandro’s Siblings
Austin Alejandro is not the only child born by his father. After his father divorced Austin’s mother, he married Janexsy Figueroa, and they had a daughter, Angelica Lucero. Moreover, his wife Janexsy had a son with Nick Jam. Thus, Austin had two half-siblings from his father’s relationships.
