Rebecca Petty Moffitt is a celebrity child best known as the daughter of Richard Petty, aka The King. Richard is a former American stock car racing driver who participated in races from 1958 to 1992. Rebecca Petty Moffitt is the daughter of car race driver Richard Petty and his late wife, Lynda Owens. She is the granddaughter of Lee Petty and Elizabeth Petty. Rebecca’s mother was an actress who performed the voice of Lynda Weathers in Disney Pixar’s Cars. Lynda Owens was married to Richard from 1959 until she died in 2014 of spinal cancer at their home in Level Cross, North Carolina.
Rebecca’s parents raised her away from the spotlight; hence little is known about her details. She attended Randleman High School from 1988 to1991, then enrolled at East Carolina University from 1991 to 1996.
For 18 years, Rebecca worked as the CEO of the Moffitt Family from 1994 until 2012. She has been Executive Director at the Petty Family Foundation since January 2008. Rebecca is married to Brian Moffitt, with whom she has a son named Thad Moffitt, who participates in car races.

Rebecca’s father, Richard Lee Petty, was born on 2 July 1937 and was nicknamed The King during his career as a race car driver. During his 35-year career, Petty competed in 1,184 races, made 200 wins, and collected 123 poles. He was the first driver to win in his 500th race start and was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 1959.
Petty is the son of Lee Petty, a race car driver who won the first Daytona 500 in 1959 and was a three-time NASCAR champion. Petty’s son, Kyle, was also a NASCAR driver before he became a racing commentator. Kyle’s son Adam (Petty’s grandson) died in a practice crash at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2000, five weeks after Lee Petty died.
The Pettys established Victory Junction, a SeriousFun Children’s Network Camp, after Adam’s death. Petty and his family resides in his hometown of Level Cross, North Carolina.
