Colin Paul Carpenter Net Worth

Even though his dad is a famous singer Colin Paul is not regarded as a famous person, so there is not a lot of information available about him. There isn’t information available about his net worth. His dad, Richard Carpenter, has a net worth of about ten million U.S. dollars.

His Parents

Mary Carpenter; maiden name Rudolph, in 1984 she married her cousin with whom she has no blood relation (as she was adopted) Richard Carpenter, together they have five children. More information than this there isn’t available on Colin Paul’s mother.

Richard Carpenter, given the name Richard Lynn Carpenter, was born on the 15th of October in 1946. Richard was born at what is now called the Yale New Haven Hospital, which was then the Grace-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, situated in Connecticut, in the United States. His father was Harold Bertram Carpenter, who was born to missionaries while they were on a mission in China. His mother was Agnes Reuwer Tatum, who had the full-time and very demanding job of being a housewife. His mother, Colin’s grandmother, sadly passed away on November 10th, 1996, and his father, Colin Paul’s grandfather, passed away on the 15th of October in 1988.

Richard knew from a very early age that he wanted to be in the music industry and was frequently found playing the piano; he had his first public performance when he was merely sixteen years old. Richard and two of his friends played at a pizza parlor in New Haven. Richard took the gig in order to earn money to buy himself a car.

He was and is very skilled in almost all aspects of the music industry, including singing, songwriting, playing some instruments, arranging music, and producing records. He is just about a jack of all trades.

He was in a trio in 1965 with Richard, his sister, Karen, and a friend named Wes Jacobs. In the trio, Karen played the drums, Richard played the piano, and Wes played bass and the tuba. In 1966 the trio won a competition which led them to record with RCA studios. They recorded three songs, yet only one was released to the public. The song was “Iced Tea.”

Richard and his sister Kate were part of yet another musical group called Spectrum in 1967. They played frequently in LA nightclubs but weren’t the most popular band in those scenes. Many of the members of Spectrum ended up being part of the Carpenters group.

Sadly, it wasn’t all moonshine and roses for Richard as he had some issues like insomnia, depression, and panic attacks. He also developed an addiction to a sedative and hypnotic medication called Quaalude.

Despite the addiction and issues that Richard had, he is still alive and kicking today at the age of 75.
