Early Life and Education
Megan Anna Rapinoe was born on 5 July 1985 in Redding, California, USA. Her father, Jim, was a contractor, while her mother, Denise, worked as a waitress.
The star began playing football when she was about three years old. Rapinoe learned the sport from Brian, her elder brother before he went to juvenile prison for using drugs.
Before attending Foothill High School, she spent time playing for soccer teams that her father coached. Instead of competing for her institution, Rapinoe signed up with the Elk Grove Pride club in Sacramento.
