The Best Road Trips To Take in Your New Car 1

There’s just something about taking a long road trip that leaves you feeling exhilarated and excited to discover new parts of the United States. From coast to coast, there is a wide range of excellent road trips that will send you on new adventures and have you discovering things you didn’t know you just had to see. Check out some of the best road trips to take to decide where to go on your next big trip.

Maine to Washington on Route 2

If you were imagining taking long road trips when searching for new cars for sale, you’ll love the cross-country trip on Route 2. Stretching from Bangor, Maine, to Seattle Washington, the trip can even stretch into Canada if you like. Along the way, you’ll see wonders like Acadia National Park, Mackinac Island, and more wonderous nature stops. End your trip on the Olympic Peninsula, which has some of the most scenic views on the west coast.

Black Hills of South Dakota

If you want both history and scenery, you can’t skip the Black Hills. Start your trip on I-90 and use exit 131 to find the Badlands Scenic Byway. While you make your way through the hills, you’ll see Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Wall Drug. Just be sure to pay attention while you drive. You’re likely to see wild bison since they’re notorious for being on the roads in this area.

Pacific Coast Highway

Stretching from San Diego to Seattle, the Pacific Coast Highway is a scenic route that takes you along the Pacific Ocean. From unique beach towns in California to ancient redwood forests, you’ll truly immerse yourself in the West Coast. Throughout your trip, you’ll pass Los Angeles, Big Sur, and San Francisco before meandering your way through Oregon and Washington to eventually reach Seattle. Remember to check for road closures along the way, as rockslide closures are common in the Big Sur area.

Whiskey on Route 66

Route 66 is a 2,000-mile trip that takes you from Chicago to Los Angeles and offers you plenty of places to try a wide variety of whiskeys. Some of the leading distilleries in the United States are along this route and include stops such as Red Fork Distillery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You’ll also see plenty of scenic attractions along the way, including the Grand Canyon and Amarillo, Texas’ Cadillac Ranch.

Blue Ridge Parkway

You don’t have to take a cross-country trip to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States. A shorter trip is the 469 miles that connects the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina to Shenandoah in Virginia. The most visited road that the US National Parks System controls, the trip travels along Skyline Drive, reaches the Luray Caverns, and eventually crosses the Natural Bridge. Make sure to check out Asheville along your route to the mountains.

Go Where the Road Takes You

While these are some of the best road trips in the United States, it is by no means an exhaustive list. Think about your favorite states or some of the attractions you’ve always wanted to see. Whether you want to take a weekend trip or a week-long one, you’re sure to come up with a plan that matches your style.
